Outsourcing: It’s in the Bible!

Having a solid support team is essential to the success in any business and by outsourcing, it enables you to reach and service more people.  While I’m not going to preach to you, I do find it appropriate to share how outsourcing is referenced in the Bible.

In Acts 6:1-7, it talks about how the early church grew in size, which meant the needs of the people grew as well.  The apostles needed to focus on preaching, but other tasks needed to be done such as organizing the distribution of food to he needy.  The apostles chose to appoint others (outsource) to administer the food program.

The appointment of these folks was not taken lightly.  The qualities that was required were that they needed to be wise and well thought of by everyone.  Jobs that require responsibility and dealing with people need leaders with these qualities.  When adding someone to your support team, you need to be sure that they have the qualities and vision that will benefit the team.

If you are in a position of leadership (business owner) and find yourself bogged down, determine your God-given abilities and priorities and then find others to help.  Just like the apostles needed to focus on preaching, entrepreneurs need to focus on the success of their businesses.  There is power in having a solid support team to handle other tasks that needed to be done.

So I say, if outsourcing was good for the early church, then it’s good enough for my business.  What say you?  I’d love your thoughts and opinions. Please leave a comment below.

That’s it for now. I’ll see YOU around the Campus!
