Christmas Eve my son and I went to Walmart for some last minute stocking stuffers and the lines were long, and the attitudes of the customers were, for the most part, jolly. Today, however, is a different story. One guy walked in with an attitude, it was written all over his face and when he saw the “returns” line, he had a temper-tantrum right in the middle of the aisle. Others were complaining how long it took to return the unwanted Christmas gift items and I just stood there observing it all…taking it all in. When I got up to the counter, I wats greeted by the most sweetest young lady, who welcomed me with a smile. All morning she has been yelled at, cussed at, and basically abused by customers, yet she continued to wear to a smile. How is your customer service when there’s a problem? Do you develop an attitude right along with the customer, or do you wear a smile and help the customer?
Here’s an article that I wrote a while back that still holds true today. Read, enjoy, and then implement.
