Do Your Customers Get Excited When They Hear From You

This morning I was late in doing my “coop” chores.  You see, before starting my work day I’m up caring for my pet chickens, roosters, and turkeys.  Funny, huh? Especially for this Florida city girl turned country wannabe!  Every morning when walking down to the coops, I’m calling the familiar call…”babies, good morning babies”, and the coops roar in excitement because they know they are getting fresh food, water, and freedom.  They know, just by the sound of my voice, that good things are coming their way.

This got me thinking, do your customers get excited when they hear from you?  Do you feed them with fresh content?  Do you give them “freedom” by helping to solve their problems?

When you consistently feed and nurture your customers, they depend on and look forward to hearing from you.  Here are a few ways to stay in touch with your customers:

1.  Frequent updates on your website and/blog.  This is an excellent way to keep your customers updated on the current events with your business, specials and discounts, and new products.

2. Acknowledge their feedback.  When a customer gives you feedback (good or bad), acknowledge it by letting your customer know that you appreciate their input and figure out a way to turn their feedback into a learning experience.  If it is a negative feedback, take a step back to see if there is any merit in what the customer had to say.

Many times it is a misunderstanding by way of you not fully communicating your intentions or the customer not understanding what was to be expected.  This is an excellent opportunity to turn this negative feedback into a positive learning lesson.  And, if done properly, you will win a happy customer for life!

3.  Follow-up and Follow-through.  If the customer attended one of your events, subscribed to your mailing list, or ordered one of your products, be sure to follow-up and follow through with them.  Send them relevant information that will solidify your relationship with them.

When you take time to care for your customers, they are sure to be excited every time they hear from you!  So, what do you do to make your customers “gobble” with joy when they hear from you?

That’s it for now. I’ll see YOU around the B&L Campus!
